1. DSL (Damn Small Linux) | This is a VERY small flavor of Linux that can run on an old Pentium 1 processor, 32 M of RAM (random access memory) and off of a 200MB partition. You can also run it from CD. To download click here.

2. Puppy Linux | This is another quite small distro but does require AT LEAST 64M of RAM to run. To download, click here.

3. Debian | Debian may usually be a HUGE distro, but you can choose packages that you want to install to make it alot smaller. To download click here.

4. Slackware | Slackware isn't really geared towards older machines, but it can run very smoothly on older hardware. To download, click here.

5. Vector Linux | Vector linux is a distro that does require at least 64M of RAM. It also has a very sleek look with the KDE desktop. To download, click here.

6. STX Linux | STX Linux is a very light weight distro based on Slackware and Puppy Linux. To download, google STX linux Download because there is no actual website. This will ensure that you will get the latest version. (no screen shot)
